FAQ for Models

A young female model with her dogDo I need to be a professional model?

Although experience in modeling or acting does help, no experience is required.  We have worked with just about everybody including children,  senior citizens and professional models.  The only requirements are that you are dependable, can follow directions and are not camera shy.

We get a lot of inquiries, so we regret that we can’t work with everybody who applies.

What do I get?

We work on a TFCD basis providing every model with a CD of edited and retouched images.  The number of images depends on the time spent, the number of looks we photograph and how well the session comes out from both your side and our side.

How much will this cost?

Photo shoots with Syracuse Modeling are absolutely free. The only thing required is for you to sign a model release form.  A model release is a legal document that allows us to sell your photos  for license to magazines, websites, advertising agencies and other companies.

If you do not wish to sign the model release, photo sessions are still available for $495.00.  Headshots only session for $150.00.  You will receive the same images mentioned above.beautiful female commercial model with laptop

Also available are:

  • Comp cards
  • Book Portfolio
  • Prints

Where will we shoot?

We have a residential studio in Syracuse, NY on Onondaga Hill and we will most likely start our shoot at that location.  If our plan warrants it, we will continue the shoot in other locations.

You are welcome to bring along a friend or escort if it makes you feel more comfortable.  Syracuse Modeling is a husband and wife team of photographers so there is always a female on premises during a shoot.

Where will my photos be used?

Stock photography is an online library of photos available to graphic designers.  Many designers find using existing stock photography is easier and more cost effective than commissioning an entire custom production.  The images may be used in brochures, advertisements, websites or even billboards.  Most often we are not aware of where our images are being used.

The agencies which sell our photographs for us have strict rules for the buyers of stock photos which restrict them from using them in harmful ways or in ways that do not reflect well on the models in the photos.  All transactions are anonymous for the models and no personal information is disclosed to the buyers.
